If you take your XR off road like we do, you know the water pump cover on the BMW S 1000 XR is exposed to the dangers of road debris and more. Keep your water pump working with the AltRider Water Pump Guard.

Made of a high-temp, abrasion and impact resistant engineering polymer, the AltRider Water Pump Guard closely echoes the contours of the OEM water pump cover. This guard is molded compared to other vacuum formed versions. Molding allows us to control the thickness of all areas of the guard compared to the vacuum forming process which does not. This process means we can provide maximum protection where it is needed most. The design allows it to take impact and distribute the force more evenly, so no one area is hit hard enough to puncture or fracture the pump.
The guard attaches via four of the existing water pump mount points, using supplied stainless fasteners and cast-in-place aluminum spacers. It features an easy access port for the bleed screw. A BMW replacement water pump will cost you $334 USD from your local BMW dealer because you cannot buy only the cover, you must replace the entire water pump assembly. Save yourself the cost and headache by protecting the exposed heart of your cooling system. The installation is very quick and easy.
